Abstract

The activities of (a) ribulose diphosphate carboxylase and (b) phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase were studied in the mesophyll and bundle sheath cells of 2 lines of grain sorghum and of their hybrid. The activity of (a) and CO2 fixation was higher in the leaves of the hybrid than in those of the parents. The activity of (b) in the hybrid was intermediate to that of the parents, but there were differences in the activity between the 2 types of cells
