Abstract

Xanthomonas rubrisorghi secreted polygalacturonase, polygalacturonate trans eliminase and pectin methyl esterase in the presence of pectic substances. Polygalacturonase was produced in media containing healthy sorghum leaves as a C source and in diseased tissues. More of the enzyme was detected in leaves of the susceptible cv. Co.19 than in Co.20
