Abstract
In trials on well drained, medium black soils, the content and uptake of P and K in sorghum was studied. The P content of maturity of the whole plant, stem, leaves and grain was 0.22, 0.11, 0.27 and 0.28%, and P uptake was 0.30, 0.05, 0.07 and 0.18 g/plant, resp. The crop removed 34.3 kg P/ha at maturity. The K content of the whole plant, stem, leaves and grain was 0.73, 1.57, 0.40 and 0.22% and K uptake 0.98, 0.74, 0.10 and 0.14 g/plant, resp. K removal at maturity was 111.2 kg/ha. Fertilizer N increased P and K uptake, and P application increased P but not K uptake. The P and K content was greater in CSH-1 than M.35-1, but P and K uptake was greater in M.35-1. P and K removal/ha was greater in CSH-1
