Abstract

The taxonomy and distribution of 2 species of the subgenus Disticha of Paspalum, as represented in South Africa, are presented. Two distinct, closely related species are recognized, namely P. paspalodes (Michx.) Scribn. (previously known as P. distichum L., a name rejected here as a nomen confusum), and P. vaginatum Swartz
