Abstract

Of 24 varieties tested in the dry season BPII and EG1 flowered the earliest, IS8211 was the shortest and IS960 yielded most. In the wet season, IS960 flowered the earliest, IS8541 was the shortest and Cosor 2 yielded most. Of seven selected varieties, CS36 had the greatest number of grains per panicle and total dry matter yield and Cosor 2 the highest grain/stover ratio in the dry season. In the wet season Cosor 3 had the greatest number of grains per panicle, IS295 the highest total dry matter and IS8544 the highest grain/stover ratio
