Abstract

In trials in 1962-7 with bajra [Pennisetum typhoides = P. americanum] on sandy soil in the arid zone of Rajasthan, application of 16.8, 22.4 and 28 kg N/ha (as f.y.m., ammonium sulphate, urea or calcium ammonium nitrate) gave average grain yields of 399, 401 and 400 kg/ha, respectively, compared with 353 kg/ha without N. There was no significant difference between N sources
