Abstract
In a field trial at Hebbal, ragi [Eleusine coracana] cv. Purna was given adequate PK and 74 kg N/ha in 5 forms as a single dressing at transplanting or in split dressings (50% at transplanting + 50% 4 weeks later, 67% at transplanting + 33% 4 weeks later or 3 equal split dressings at transplanting and at 2 and 4 weeks later). Applied N increased grain yield from 2.62 kg/plot in the control given no N to 3.96-5 kg/plot; the highest yield was given by calcium ammonium nitrate applied in 3 equal split dressings
