Abstract
In field-grown sorghum, total DM increased until maturity, while leaf DM decreased between the milk stage and the fully-ripe stage, the decrease being proportional to the accumulation of ear DM indicating active translocation of assimilates during grain filling. Total and ear DM contents were positively correlated with 3rd and flag leaf dry weights. A rapid decrease in LAR and increases in NAR and RGR were found during grain formation and these changes were greater in cv. Swarna than in cv. C.S.H.1.
