Abstract
In trials in 1963-4 with 3 bajra [P. typhoides = P. americanum] cultivars in Rajasthan, plant N contents were highest (11.5-14.04%) at 25-35 days after sowing and gradually decreased to 2.21-2.53% at 68 days. Application of N significantly increased protein contents of grain and fodder. Weed control measures (3 hoeings or 2 applications of 2,4-D) increased protein contents of grain and fodder in 1964 only
