Abstract

Filtrates from cultures of D. [Cochliobolus] bicolor, D. [C.] hawaiiensis, D. nodulosa [C. nodulosus], D. [Bipolaris] sorghicola, D. tetramera, E. halodes and E. rostratum [Setosphaeria rostrata], E. turcicum [S. turcica] and H. spiciferum [C. spicifer] inhibited or stimulated seed germination, depending on the sorghum cultivar. Seedling growth and vigour of cv. Swarna and cv. Neerujola were reduced, but not that of the 2 hybrids.
