Abstract
Data on yield and 6 yield-related characters in F3 and F4 populations derived from 3 intervarietal crosses indicated that number of productive tillers was strongly associated with grain yield. Thousand-grain weight was positively associated with yield in 2 of the crosses in both generations. Path analysis indicated that productive tillers and 1000-grain weight had the strongest direct positive effects on yield.
