Abstract

In a 5 X 5 diallel analysis studied for six characters, additive genetic effects were predominant for height and days to flowering. Significant specific combining ability effects were observed in some crosses. All characters showed partial dominance except panicle length, which showed overdominance. Heritability estimates were high for height, days to flowering, number of internodes and peduncle length.
