Abstract

The most serious nutritional problem facing the country at present is protein-calorie malnutrition especially among children of the lower income group. This problem may be views in the light of the fact that the ordinary Indian diet is primarily cereal based and that about 57 percent of our daily protein requirement is met from cereals.
