Abstract
When the varieties CO6, CO1 and CO5 of medium duration (115 to 135 days) and CO4, K1 and K2 of long duration (over 135 days), were grown for three years with and without farm-yard manure or with and without nitrogen (0 to 135 kg/ha), (1) all medium-duration varieties yielded similarly for the three years; (2) the yields of long-duration varieties varied with the year; (3) farm-yard manure did not significantly increase yield over that of the control; and (4) applications of N progressively increased yield, the increase at 112.5 kg/ha being highest and 38% above the control yield for medium-duration varieties and 90% above the control yield for long-duration ones
