Abstract
In a trial in 1967-70 at 6 sites, pearl millet [Pennisetum typhoides = P. americanum] cv. HB3 was given all combinations of 49.4, 98.8 or 148.2 kg N, 24.7, 49.4 or 74.1 kg P2O5, and 0 or 74.1 kg K2O/ha and was sown at between-row spacings of 90 or 45 cm. Average grain yields were highest at Vijapur (2.2-3.7 t) in all 3 years and increased with increase in the rate of N up to 148.2 kg/ha. Increase in the rate of P from 24.7 to 74.1 kg/ha increased grain yields from 2.04 t to 2.14 t/ha. There was generally no yield response to K
