Abstract

A new species of Allorhogas from Mexico is described as A. pyralophagus sp. n. from adult females found parasitizing Eoreuma loftini on Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense) in Mexico. In the laboratory in Trinidad, this species was found to parasitize Diatraea saccharalis and Chilo partellus. At present A. pyralophagus is being introduced into Texas for the biological control of E. loftini on sugarcane, sorghum grown for seed and maize
