Abstract

Results from experiments on cultivators' fields and at the Model Agronomic Centres conducted during 1969-70 to 1971-72 with rice, jowar, maize, bajra, groundnut and castor under rainfed conditions clearly show the need for balanced fertilisation. Soils in drylands are not only thirsty but hungry too and adequate supply of plant nutrients is essential for increasing and stabilizing the production.
