Abstract
In a trial in the kharif [summer monsoon] season of 1965, finger millet (Eleusine coracana) cv. H-22, Cauveri, Annapurna and Purna given 0-150 kg N/ha gave average grain yields of 958, 828, 828 and 526 kg/ha, respectively. Application of 100 kg N/ha gave the highest yields of 1.13 t/ha, compared with 173.8 kg/ha on plots given no N. In a trial in the rabi [winter] season of 1965, cv. Cauveri, Annapurna and Purna given 0-150 kg N/ha gave yields of 1.25, 1.36 and 1.18 t/ha, respectively. Application of 100 and 150 kg N/ha resulted in yields of 1.42 and 1.56 t/ha, respectively, compared with 834 kg/ha on plots given no N
