Abstract

Six inbreds of Pennisetum typhoides and their 15 F1 hybrids were grown in four environments. The inbreds A296 and F848 and the hybrid Anand X F1284 showed stable yield with respect to environment, their mean performance was below average. NB72 X F1284 showed stability and above-average yield. The lack of association between mean performance, response to environment and stability suggested that these characters are under separate genetic control
