Abstract

In trials in 1968-71, the new sorghum cv. C-433, C-406-8, C-19 and C-429-1 gave average fresh fodder yields of 43.2, 44, 43.7 and 44.5 t/ha, respectively, compared with 36.1 and 40.55 t/ha for the standard cv. J.S.20 and J.S.263, respectively. In trials in 1969-71, the Sudan grass cv. T-103 gave average yields of 38 t/ha compared with 30 and 34.57 t/ha in the standard sorghum cv. J.S.20 and S.S.G. 59-3, respectively. Data on the yields and fodder HCN contents of some new sorghum hybrids are also given.
