Abstract

The effectiveness of different formulations of carbofuran and isofenphos for the control of Atherigona soccata Rond. on sorghum was evaluated in field-plot tests in New Delhi, India, in 1978-79. Data on percentage germination, the amount of oviposition, percentage deadhearts and grain yield showed that carbofuran was generally superior to isofenphos. The effective carbofuran treatments included soil application of granules at 0.4-0.6 kg a.i./ha just before sowing and seed treatment with a 50% soluble powder at 0.32-0.40 kg a.i./ha
