Abstract
The activity of PEPcarboxylase was higher in C4 species than in C3 species, while in C3 species high temperature acclimation increased the activity2- to 3-fold as compared to same plantsgrown at low temperature. In C4 species activity of this enzyme was found considerably lower during high temperature acclimation. Activity of P-glycolate phosphate was 4–7 times higher in C3plants as compared to that in C4plants. Ratio of activity of P-glycolate phosphatase to 3 PGA phosphatase was higher in C4plantsgrown in high temperature as compared to those in low temperature whereas in C3 species this ratio was lower in high temperaturegrownplants. However, it seems that this temperature acclimation effect on the ratio of these two phosphatase was not due to differences in photosynthetic pathways but due to species differences. Glycolate oxidase, NADH glyoxylate reductase and NADH hydroxypyruvate reductase activity were higher in both types of plants when grown in high temperature
