Abstract

The parents and F2 of a diallel cross involving ten inbred lines of Pennisetum typhoides were grown at one site in one year. Dominance effects were important for chlorophyll content and incidence of Puccinia penniseti while both dominance and additive effects were important for the number of internodes. For all three characters dominance effects were greater than additive effects and overdominance was observed. Heritability was relatively high for the number of internodes and low for the other two characters
