Abstract

The rapid response of grasses to top dressings of nitrogenous fertilizers is well known. Many types of grass crops such as permanent pastures, golf courses, and lawns obviously may not be fertilized once they have become established except by surface applications. This practice is also frequently followed in the culture of other crops.
