Abstract

Chimeras in general are confined to the vegetables parts of the plants (Imai 1935), Jones 1937, Raman & Krishna Murthy 1955) and their appearance in the reproductive region is of rare occurrence. A majority of cases recorded were of the periclinal type. Jones(loc. Cit) is of opinion that such instances arising spontaneously in nature were probably in reality..........................
