Abstract
Inoculations at the Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, of very young bajra [Pennisetum typhoides [Pennisetum glaucum]] ears (still enclosed in the sheath leaves) with fresh spores of Tolyposporium penicillariae [R.A.M., 28, p. 55] resulted in very good infection. The spores germinated immediately, the incubation period being only about two weeks. Field observations of crops from the beginning of September to the middle of November indicated the occurrence of secondary infection.
