Abstract
Fungal invasion was measured by ergosterol and whole-grain plating assays. Five hybrids grown in Kansas and harvested at 12-week intervals differed little in susceptibility to invasion by species of Alternaria and Fusarium. Of eight lines grown in two localities in Texas and harvested on two dates, TAM428 was the least invaded at Dallas and SCO103-12 was the least invaded at College Station. Both assays revealed differences in fungal invasion among lines, grown at Dallas, which appeared healthy
