Abstract

In his article ‘Deceleration in Agricul- tural Growth: Technology Fatigue or Policy Fatigue?’ (June 23), Narayanamoorthy has argued that the crisis in Indian agriculture is mainly due to the lack of appropriate policy rather than technology. The author starts building his argument from a statement made by the prime minister Manmohan Singh in his inaugural address at the 53rd meeting of the National Development Council that there is a technology fatigue in Indian agriculture, which needs to be addressed in order to accelerate the rate of growth of the sector.1...
