Abstract

In a cross between two diploid species, A. duranensis and A. villosa, a 40-chromosomed plant was isolated which did not differ much in its morphological characteristics from chromosome hybrids of the two parents. The teraploid which must have resulted from the mitotic abnormality at the first division of the Zygote had a profuse branching habit, dark green leaves and woody branches..................
