Abstract

The composition and distribution of lipids in grain of pearl millet [Pennisetum americanum], proso millet [Panicum miliaceum], foxtail millet [Setaria italica], finger millet [Eleusine coracana], Japanese millet [Echinochloa frumentacea], sorghum and maize were compared. Pearl millet oil contained more saturated fatty acids than that of maize or sorghum. The properties of waxes and carotenoids of sorghum and millets were briefly considered
