Abstract
Four varieties each of bird-resistant grain sorghum, bird-susceptible grain sorghum, forage sorghum and one corn hybrid were grown in small plots to determine tannin content in both grain and forage. Forage sorghum varieties were selected to include mature heights ranging from 6 to 12 feet. Each plot consisted of three rows on 36-inch centers and were 25 feet in length. Seeding rates for the sorghums and corn were 10 and 18 pounds per acre, respectively.
