Abstract

Ten different seeddressing fungicides were tested for their effectiveness in improving germination of pearl millet seeds. With the exception of Leytosoi, which was toxic, all the chemicals increased the germinaion percentage to a considerable extent. Ceresan wet, Spergon, captan, Dithane Z-78, Panogen - 15 and Arasan were found to be more effective than others. Addition of gibberellic acid to captan and Ceresan did not result in any significant increase in germination, but the height of the seeding was increased.
