Abstract

A sample of sorghum grain contaminated by a white, velvety dense mat of fungal growth used as feed for brood sows caused a decrease in conception and increase in abortions. When the sorghum was tested for known mycotoxins the results were negative. Isolations yielded S. commune, not previously reported as a mycotoxin producer
