Abstract
Twin seedling pairs were isolated from Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench at frequencies of 1:7,500 in crossed seed and 1:12,100 in selfed seed. The higher frequency from crossed seed probably was related to delayed pollination. Progenies of twins had no more twin seedlings than parental stocks. Twin types occurred in these ratios: vigorous-vigorous, 48%; vigorous-weak, 40%; and weak-weak, 12%. Limited cytological analyses indicated that weak members may be a source of haploids.
