Abstract

In desynaptic plants of BG32 the average number of bivalents per PMC was 1.934 whereas in normal cells seven bivalents were formed. Meiosis was irregular in the desynaptic plants and resulted in unequal distribution of chromosomes at anaphase I. Laggards were also observed. About 38.4% of the pollen was fertile and partial to complete seed sterility was also observed
