Abstract

The distribution and variability of wild and cultivated material of Sorghum, Pennisetum and Eleusine spp. collected during an expedition in 1979 are briefly described and discussed. Sorghum material was mostly of Guinea, caudatum and durra types or intermediate forms. Among wild Pennisetum spp. collected were P. polystachyon, P. purpureum and P. mezianum. E. coracana material included both top-curved and incurved head types and some samples with reniform seed.
