Abstract
Evidence based on spikelet dimensions and geographical distribution of specimens, which did not fit the description of Paspalum vaginatum or P. paspalodes, is presented in support of the proposed change in status of P. vaginatum var. nanum to P. vaginatum subsp. nanum.
