Abstract
Hybrid sorghum ratoon growing on large scale is a recent introduction in Maharashta. But its cultivation depends mostly on its pest control. Shootfly causes considerable lows and even total failure of the crop has been reported Dhumal (1967). Soil application of phorate granules (1.875) kg ai/ha) gave good control of shootfly. Vedamoorthy et a1 (1968); Anire (1968); Singh and Shah (1969) & Mote and Telaeti (1975). While Mote and Pokarkar (1975) reported that phorate granules mixed with ammonium sulphate at sowing control the shootfly efficiently
