Abstract
In variety T5, anthesis lasted for 12 days, beginning before complete emergence of the spike and occurring as 3 flushes. Each stigma took 5-7 hr to emerge from the glumes, most emergences occurring at 12 noon on the second day. The receptivity of each lasted 18-21 hr. Stamens emerged 2-3 days later, mainly between midnight and 2 a.m., taking 4-9 days to complete their emergence throughout the panicle. Anther dehiscence took 15-20 minutes, but seldom occurred during rains.-J.G.G.
