Abstract
SORGHUM GRAIN HAS been used in many countries as a source of human food; however, it is a relatively new crop and is expanding to importance in the United States. In 1967 more than 700 million bu. of sorghum grain was produced in the United States. Sorghum is the third largest U.S. cereal crop. Major producing areas are Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma. Missouri, New Mexico, Arizona, South Dakota, Colorado, and California. In Texas, sorghum is the number one grain crop, with an annual cash value exceeding 300 million dollars
