Abstract

Path coefficient analysis (genotypic and phenotypic) revealed that number of pods per plant, 100-seed weight and harvest index made maximum direct contribution towards seed yield per plant. Correlations of number of pods per plant and harvest index were also significant and positive which were reflected in path analysis as high direct effects. In addition to this, number of branches per plant and plant height contributed indirectly via number of pods per plant towards seed yield per plant.
