Abstract

The main observations made during work on food toxins during the past 10 years at the National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, India, are reviewed. Toxins include aflatoxin, ergot, mustard oil and toxic alkaloids from seeds of the weed Crotalaria nana contaminating millet (Panicum miliare) grain.
