Abstract

Male sterility in Pennisetum proved to be under both cytoplasmic and nuclear control, at least two pairs of recessive genes being involved. It is stated that male-sterile lines with good agronomic characters may be produced by using P. typhoides and P. glaucum as cytoplasmic sources.
