Abstract
Regeneration of 7-node decapitated rhizome segments of S. halepense planted horizontally at (a) 2.5-cm, (b) 5-cm, (c) 10-cm or (d) 15-cm depths in soil, was best at (a) and (b). Only 84% of shoots in (c) and 50% in (d) reached the soil surface by the 44th day. Apical dominance was irrespective of depth treatment
