Abstract

In the first two contributions of the series, effect on germination of peas, cowpeas, gram and mung seeds damaged by developing grubs of Callosobruchus maculatus was reported (Jotwani and Sircar 1964 ; Jotwani el al., 1967). The work on the relationship between the extent of damage and germination of seeds was continued with three important cereals viz. wheat (variety N . P, 718). Jowar (variety P. J. 4K), and maize (variety Ganga 101) infested by two important storage pests viz., S, oryzae and R, domlnica, the grubs of which feed inside the seeds.
