Abstract
Twenty lines, selected out of 639 widely divergent indigenous stock of ragi (Eleusine coracune (l) Gaetrin) were grown in replicated trial and their yield and seven other yield contributing characters were studied. the grain yield was positively correlated with plant height and grain weight of main ear. The grain weight of main ear was positively associated with length of main ear and days to maturity. The path analysis and selection indices study indicated that the characters, i.e., grain weight, numbers of finger, days to maturity are important characters for the improvement of finger millets.
