Abstract
Data from a field experiment on sorghum cv. CSH-8R yield and NPK uptake and on available and fertilizer NPK were used to calculate NPK requirements for grain production and the relative available soil and fertilizer NPK contributions to these requirements. Yield targetting equations were derived from these calculations and their validity was tested in a further field experiment
