Abstract
In the United States downy mildew of sorghum, caused by Sclerospora sorghi Weston & Uppal, has been reported only from Texas (2) and Mississippi (1). On August 5. 1968. in a 25-acre field of a sorghum-Sudan grass hybrid 6 miles south of Forsyth, Georgia, we observed severe symptoms similar to those caused by 2. s-i (2). Forage yield was redused an estimated 25-50%. White streaking was very pronounced on some leaves, and most leaves showed yellow-green discoloration of the infected tissue.
