Abstract
In 204 lines of pearl-millet (Pennisetum typhoides (Burm.f) Stapf & C.E.Hubb) heritable differences were high for grain yield, grain size and 50% earing, medium to high for grain density and plant height, and medium for tiller number. Correlation and regression analyses revealed that tiller number was the most important attribute influencing yield, followed by plant height, grain size and 50% earing. Grain yield, grain desity, grain size, plant height and tiller number were positively interrelated, but their relationship with 50% earing was negative.
