Abstract

Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important oilseed crop of tropical and subtropical regions of the world and is a native of Brazil. It was introduced into India in the sixteenth century. In India, groundnut occupies an area of 6.9 million ha. with total production of 5.3 million tonnes.
